I'm Cathy Anderson. I'm a creative. I'm passionate. I pay attention. I voice up. I call people on their $#!+. I love Frederick. And, I'm tired of the status quo.This isn't my first time getting vocal about how things work around here. This site was active back in 2019 over the city logo controversy. But this goes deeper. Much deeperI've been through the City of Frederick ethics complaint process twice. I went in thinking the system worked. I came out confused, frustrated, and full of questions. Not just about what happened to me, but about whether it works fairly for everyone. So I kept paying attention. And the more I looked, the more I found.This is that record.I've been a vocal, engaged resident for a long time through the rebranding fight, neighborhood advocacy, communications issues, and more. What I've learned is that it takes an extraordinary amount of noise just to get basic things taken seriously. I'm tired of a system that waits for the noise instead of doing the right thing quietly. So I'm making more noise.One more thing. I have genuine respect for everyone who represents us in office, serves us as city employees, volunteers on a board or commission, or gives their time to make this city better. This is not a personal attack on any of them. What I'm questioning is the system they operate inside and whether that system is actually built to work for all of us.
